Where are you in Wa state? The G1 is supposed to be set to idle, if you hold the brakes on and just touch the pedal enough to start it should idle.
You need a little slack in the throttle cable so it idles after the pedal switch is on. How much your belt drags can affect it. It may not idle well until warm. Far as fuel smallblock is correct only the idle mix.
If everything like crank seals and airbox seals are good it should run well with stock jetting. You have to be careful about jetting with a 2 stroke, but you should not have to change it unless its not the right carb or you changed the airbox or exhaust. G1 will idle Its been so long, Ive forgotten what the wire color is to disconnect back by the solenoids.
But one of those will cause the cart to not turn off when the accelerator pedal is at rest. Well yes, idle long as you have your foot in the pedal. I usually just touched the pedal and it would not move anywhere, then set the idle speed and mix. Or put a block in front of the wheels. You can jack it up but it may act different that way than it does with the belt dragging. Its not a big deal really but if the idle is set right its a slow idle and it makes the cart start better.
You also set it faster than the starter, it will keep someone from driving around on the starter and killing the battery. Yes I am in Carnation. Thank you.Quick Links. Table of Contents. What is interesting to know is that electric golf carts have been using regenerative brakes for some years now as a means to help recharge the batteries. There are many benefits to regenerative brakes that we explain throughout this article, but in the meantime, we explore what exactly regenerative brakes do and their overall importance to the functionality of electric vehicles and golf carts.
In addition, we will also find that they contribute to a cleaner world. Are you wondering how regenerative brakes work? A regenerative brake is a mechanism in which the electric motor that drives the electric vehicle operates in reverse during braking. It is a system of energy recovery that reduces the speed of the vehicle.
It is done by transforming the kinetic energy in a form that can be utilized instantly or stored for later use. The amount of energy available for storage depends on various factors. These include:.
The components of regenerative brakes system include an actuator and a storage device. These are required to capture and store energy. In an electric golf cart, an actuator is an electric machine. The energy storage space is the battery as it is the power source of the cart.

Some of the common actuators are:. Furthermore, the braking controller creates a connection between the energy storage device and actuator. This helps in controlling the process of the actuator, calculating the braking torque and wheel-speed. It is useful in pointing generated electricity during braking into the energy storage device.
The regenerative braking is an act of turning a motor into a generator. In this way, it slows down the load that was driving. Regenerative braking puts a little of the energy back into the traction pack and for this instance on your golf cart, it would put the absorbed energy back into your batteries. It saves your brakes from being damaged and gives a boost to the range every time you stop.
The main aim of regenerative braking is to recollect the energy byproduct. The byproduct is the result of the brakes.
In an electric cart, the electric motor that runs the cart has an essential role in barking. When you press the brake pedal, the regenerative braking circuit shifts the motor to work in reverse.
As a result of reversal, the circuit works as a power generator that creates electrical energy. The developed electricity is directed towards the storage batteries of the car to recharge them.Search in Result Search in Result Search. Brand Volvik Garmin Golfpride. Shipping from ALL. I got the new shoes put on, and I turned the adjusters completely in on both sides in order to get the drums back on.
I tried spinning the adjusters out until they just barely grabbed the drums, and I am having a very tough time doing this. I'll do one side and it feels right. Then I'll go to the other, and adjust it. Then the other is like stuck and wont spin. I loosen, and then check the other I pushed the gas to see whats going on, and its like dragging the shoes real bad, and the hubs are barley turning.
I then loosen, and they turn full speed, but when I push the brake pedal in it does nothing? What am I doing wrong? Today BGW. Sponsored Links. Re: How to properly adjust the brakes on a yamaha g2? From what I can tell they are both working. When you push on the brake pedal the cables are moving the levers on the backside of the backing plates where the brake shoes are. I just loosened both adjusters out until the drums spun freely, and put it back together for the night.
I took it for a drive slamming the brakes every few seconds thinking maybe they would adjust themselves like they do on a car It actually got a little better. The passenger side wheel will lock up if you slam it down now, but the driver side doesn't do much.
Should I just turn the adjusters out a little bit, and try to get them to grab a little more? Or is there a special way of adjusting them? Have to read a few pages, because the shoes I used were not "Genuine Yamaha" shoes.
They had a hard compound, and wouldn't stop for crap! Later had to change to the yamaha shoe. I do the following to adjust the brakes. Readjust the 12 millimeter adjuster nut until you have one and a half inches of brake pedal travel when pressing the pedal with your hand. Please can some one help i am looking for information on trying to adjust the breaks on my cart it had been setting up for some time they pulled the break cables loose and I am haveing trouble getting adjusted and clipped back on.Forum Announcement.
Parking Brake Issues. Posts Latest Activity. Page of 1. Filtered by:. Previous template Next. I have a Club Car Precedent. My brakes work fine, but when I am on any kind of hill and try to set the parking brake, the cart will roll until it gets to a flat place.
My course at home is rather hilly so it is causing a problem. For someone who does not have much mechanical acumen, is there any easy way to "tighten" the parking brake up? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Tags: None. August 16,PM. There is a rod on the back of the pedal which runs down under the cart to a claw that set's the park brake. Look at this claw it maybe out of adjust ment. How to Remove a STUCK Drum Brake
I have seen the teeth worn off so they want catch also. The rod on the pedal is a snap on so take it loose and adjust it if u can to hold. There is no substitute for Voltage! Comment Post Cancel. I assume I will need to take the floor board off to see that. The parking brake will set, it just rolls till it finds flat ground.
OK sorry you said president not DS model my bad. Look under floor board and see how much play is in the cables when brake isn't applied. Then set brake and they should be tight. There should be adjustment under the drivers side floor to adjust them. Once you find the adjust tighten it up just so the cart want roll.
Sorry for the possible stupid question I am by no means a mechanic what will the adjustment look like and how do I adjust it? I have searched the web and not been very succesfull. It should be a rod with a heavy duty spring with the brake cables attached to it. Drivers side under the cart. One last question, how do I "adjust" it?
