During winter months when indoor heating can drive the humidity in your home down to 20 percent or less, an animal-shaped ultrasonic humidifier can go into overtime replacing moisture in the air in a child's room.
If an ultrasonic humidifier breaks down, check for a blocked vibrating membrane, which is at the heart of every ultrasonic humidifier. Before tossing the humidifier, attempt a basic repair at home. Learn how the humidifier works. The ultrasonic humidifier uses a membrane to create pressure waves in the water that are gradually released into the air.
The pressure waves are strong enough that when they reach the surface of the water above the vibrating membrane they "kick out" individual surface molecules of water, creating the water vapor. Examine the humidifier. Make sure the control light shines green, the water tank is full, and the reservoir below the main water tank is full.
If everything is in order, but there is no water vapor or very little vapor, the membrane may be blocked by lime scales, minerals or a drowned insect. Remove the main water tank. Don't touch anything inside, but turn the humidifier on. If you see little drops jumping out of the water and fog created above the water surface, the membrane and humidifier are OK and something is blocking the outlets for the vapor.
Check the main water tank for obstructions. Unplug the humidifier and look into the inside tank to identify the membrane, which may look different depending on the humidifier.
Look for a round rubber plate in a circular frame. Examine the membrane and the sides of the tank for particulates from the water and lime scale. If the membrane collects enough debris, it cannot generate a pressure wave strong enough to create a vapor. Clean the inner water tank to get all the particulates out of the membrane and the space between the membrane and the frame. Wash it out with a stream of water from the tap or water hose, avoiding the electrical parts inside the box.
Put the parts of the freshly cleaned humidifier together and turn it on. Hunker may earn compensation through affiliate links in this story. Tip To reduce mineral deposits use only distilled or purified water in the humidifier.

Part 1 of Choose the right type of humidifier for your needs.I have had this for a few months now and it is amazing. I was hesitant about ordering because it was very cheap but I have had nk issues so far. My baby caught a cold 4 days of being born I kept this on at night and it worked wonders.
It's smaller and sleek. I love the night light. Easy to use and clean. I'm buying another for my upstairs. Had this product for six months and itstill works great and we love it. It does a great job of putting moisture in the air and last 7 hours on the high setting so we are so satisfied with this.
We have since bought one for every room in the house. It's quiet, the mist is cool, has a consistent flow and it's easy to change between high, medium and low settings. Although I like the lighted power button, for me it's really bright and interrupts my sleep. I keep it on my nightstand but I will probably move it to my dresser.
Good fine spray and quiet! A little hard to fill as it's curved on top.
How to Repair an Ultrasonic Humidifier
But good design once its together. Better sleeping conditions with humidity added to the room! Price is great for an ultrasonic humidifier. The issue is that the mist is not adjustable and will leave the surrounding area damp. I brought this for my daughter's room to help with her asthma and so far it's working out well. And its inexpensive too. Her doctor recommended a humidifier and glad to find one. I recommend this to anyone. For this product, I was initially attracted by its appearance.
It did work well at first, but after more than half a year of use, the atomization function of this product began to fail.
I took care of it. Cleaned it and used only filter water. Had some cooler temps last couple nights so cleaned and plugged in and not working. Barely puts out mist. It looks nice but the performance. It only worked for the first time, and then it no longer works anymore.
The power button does not respond after the first use. DO NOT buy this Here at Walmart. Your email address will never be sold or distributed to a third party for any reason. Due to the high volume of feedback, we are unable to respond to individual comments.I have read prior reviews before buying this one. I believe my product was a return. I didn't think that until I opened it and the water reservoir had a little bit of water in it.
It was 10pm on a Friday night, I kept it, at least for a night. I'm writing this review the next Saturday morning. After looking at the pictures on the Walmart app, I see mine is missing the spout where the foggy mist comes out. I believe not having the spout is a good thing.
There's almost like a race track plastic design on top of the humidifier then in the middle there is a well. This humidifier produces so much mist that it collects a little bit on the top. I believe the leaking problem that I read from prior reviews is actually being caused by the spout. When all that mist hits a spout like that, it's going to produce more water dripping, hence fill the plastic track up faster and drip off the side.
I had mine on for 7. Here's the major thing, I woke up with 2 clear nostrils. I have been suffering from nosebleeds and stuffed nasal passages for almost 2 months while using my other humidifiers. I must say though, that I used one of my evaporative humidifiers with a fan to help blow the mist around but this humidifier put alot of moisture on the top casing of the electric fan and when I was just sitting here, I heard the water dripping on the hot electric motor.
I will put my blower fan a little farther away from this humidifier tonight and see how that works. This is the best humidifier that I have ever used due to the 2 clear nasal passages! Thank you. This is my first time buying this product. So far in 24 hours has not leak. It powered up perfectly and there's no cracks in it. My other humidifier was a Honeywell that every time the filter needed to be replaced no stores in a 50 miles radius carry them.
It doesn't leak Don't place this on the floor. The unit does its best to help. It uses a small fan and a heated plate to cast the vapor into the room. But, if you don't elevate the unit, it will soak a carpet or dampen a tile floor. I think this effect may be why many report leaks. It works as expected. The buttons are loud when pressed and the LED screen is pretty bright when in use at night in a dark room but that can be remedied by covering it with paper.
And as long as the humidifier is set before you put your little ones to sleep then the sound isn't an issue. The whole system runs quietly. Great humidifier, but there is no sleep mode for the display and no option for warm mist both of which are claimed in the product description - hence the card in front of the display. The aromatherapy pod is super small and doesn't closed when filled with oils, so that kind of sucks.
Other than that, it's a great product! BUT said was a cold mist and mist felt cold but it said it rose the temp by 20f also it felt hotter by like 5f. I would rate 0 stars if I could.
Unit leaks incredibly bad. About half the tank leaked out in 15 mins when I first ran it and ruined my coffee table and soaked my carpet. From Hawaii humidity to Cali desert, my savior!
